Send/receive gives error 0x8ccc0003 on sending photos

I am trying to send an e/m with photographs as attachments.  As the photo files are quite large (6 mb) so I am going to the library, selecting the photos and thenright click.. send to...mail recipient.  This reduces the size of the files substantially.  After completing the e/m and hitting the send button, it goes to the out box.   There it stays.  If I hit the send/receive button I get the error messageMicrosoft Live Error 0x8ccc0003.  Any help would be appreciated
