I use Windows 7 professional (64bit) and have Windows Live Mail (Version 2011, 15.4.3508.1109), but when I get any attachment (pdf, doc, html, etc) to an email, I can't open them directly. I can always save them and then open them with no problem. This
is a new problem and wasn't happening a couple weeks ago. I'm not aware of any big system change I've made that could have caused it. Other than this problem, my WLM works normally.
I've run the "repair" option on Windows Live Mail.
In the Options/Security I have "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" unchecked.
All my file associations seem to be working ok.
I turned off my virus protection (Microsoft security essentials), but this didn't help.
I've looked at other threads, but haven't seen this same problem solved. It should be something obvious.
