My hard drive was failing and is now dead. I have a copy of the Windows Live Mail folder that was copied not created through the windows live export wizard. I also saved a folder called Windows Live Contacts. I need to import those files into a fresh install of Windows Live Mail 2012.
I believe I was running Windows Live Mail 2011 on W7_64_ultimate and have downloaded and installed Windows essentials 2012 on w7_32 and w8.1_64. I installed windows essentials { Windows Live Mail 2012 } and ran the import wizard. It imported everything but the sent items including six mail accounts. {That was nice although not labeled so nice.} the sent items did not import into any of the mail accounts and neither did the contacts.
I used to be able to copy the mail folder from the old computer and paste it into the new one on C: and then set up or import the mail accounts and import the contacts through a .csv file. This did not work this time and I don't have the .csv file.
All I have is a 30MB folder inside the folder Windows Live Contacts called {ha0932mg-abc1-9246-aebf-9re5iwq9h6w4}
The folder Windows Live Mail is 0.98GB This has all my mail for the past year or two.
1. How can I import the sent items folders into Windows Live Mail ???
2. How can I extract the contact info out of the windows live contacts folder ???
