I have an issue whereby I cannot export a large quantity of a user's email from their Windows 7 Windows Live Mail (from Windows Essentials) to Microsoft Outlook. I've tried exporting directly to the user's Exchange account on their new Exchange server and equally to a .PST file. Basically it sticks at "Exporting 'Inbox'... Message 345 (of 16328)" and I've let it sit overnight with no change. I have to end-task, cancel won't quit it.
Steps I've taken to attempt to resolve the issue:
1) Upgraded client's Windows Live Mail 2011 to Windows Live Mail 2012 (Build 16.4.3528.0331).
2) Set the maintenance window to run after the next time I shut the program down.
3) Chkdsk to ensure the drive isn't corrupted.
Does anyone with insight into this issue specifically, as in people that won't copy and paste generic suggestions that don't apply, have any suggestions on how this may be resolved?
Does it literally involve tracking down this 345th email and deleting it? Hearing from someone who's experienced success would be appreciated.
The user in question does have a massive collection of email > 10 GB, not sure if that's exacerbating the situation or doesn't matter.
