I have just started using Windows live Mail (Windows Essentials 2012) on a new Win 8.1 desktop. I have put in 3 email accounts - one a telus account, one a hotmail account and one a gmail account. The telus account and the hotmail account is working
wonderfully. But, Windows live mail will not download emails from the gmail account into the Live Mail - the other 2 accounts do it. I have gone into gmail and checked the settings-more than once; have tried both outgoing ports - and I can log into the web-based
gmail server using the exact username and password set up in the properties for my gmail account in windows live mail. I have uninstalled, reinstalled live mail and uninstalled,repaired live mail without any success. When I'm in Windows Live Mail and go to
my gmail account, it says that it must download the emails from gmail first and then an error appears saying that the server has rejected log in and to retry username and password which I do with the same reoccurring message. Hope you can help,Larry
