Can't receive email from sbcglobal

I haven't been able to receive email from sbcglobal since September 1. I keep getting this error message:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Sbcglobal account. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

I am able to send email; and I can receive/send email through Yahoo. 

Help!
