My Original Question............
Recently had my laptop stolen and had to get a new one.
Luckily i had everything backed up with mypcbackup.com so not lost too much. However i'm having major issues with Win Live Mail.
1. Saved messages are not saving in sent mail. The relevant boxes are ticked. I've checked that "show all messages" is the setting. I've tried changing the mail storage folder to an new fresh and empty one. Nothing works. Someone mentioned that computer time and region settings can effect it. Mine are set to my correct location and time, although when i bought the laptop it was set to the standard US TZ rather than my local Malaysia. Could this cause an issue?
It is saving the gmail and hotmail mails correctly. Just having issues with my work mail and business mail which are non mainstream but were working fine until the new laptop and win 8.
2. I had restored my backed up mails to the mail storage folder but none of them are being picked up by Win Live Mail. This is very important as this is the last 4 years of work emails.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help troubleshoot these issues.

Hi Mattkerr,
I would suggest you to uncheck the option to save sent messages in sent item folder. Restart Windows Live Mail, then check the option again, clickApply then click OK.
Also try to rebuild the Windows Live Mail folder and check if that fixes the issue.
Step 1: Rename the Windows Mail folder and create a new folder
a. Exit Windows Live Mail.
b. Locate the Windows Live Mail folder.
It is typically located in:
C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\
c. Right-click the Windows Live Mail folder, and then click Rename.
d. Add old to the end of the folder name so that the folder is now named Windows Live Mail.old.
Step 2: Create a new Windows Live Mail folder and copy the contents from the previous folder
a. Start Windows Live Mail so that it can automatically create the new Windows Live Mail folder, and then exit Windows Live Mail.
b. Located the new Windows Live Mail folder to confirm it is created.
It is typically located in:
C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\
Note If the new Windows Live Mail folder is compressed, you have to uncompress this folder. To uncompress it, right-click the Windows Live Mail folder, and then select Extract.
c. Open the Windows Live Mailold folder.
d. Open the Local Folder and copy theaccount{xxxxxxxxxxxxx}.oeaccount file. Notice thatxxxxxxxxxxxxxrepresents numbers or letters.
e. Paste the file into the Local Folder in the new Windows Mail folder (that was created in step 1 of this procedure).
f. If the following folders are present in the Windows Live Mail.old folder, copy each folder and paste it into the new Windows Mail folder.
o Stationery
o Microsoft Community
g. Close all folders.
Step 3: Import messages in Windows Mail
a. Start Windows Mail.
b. Import the messages from the previous Windows Mail folder to the new folder. To import the messages, follow these steps.
i. Click File, point to Import, and then click Message.
ii. Click Windows Live Mail in Select Program, and then click Next.
iii. Click Browse, select the location of Windows Live Mail.old, and then click Next.
iv. Click All folders inSelect the folder, and then click Next.
v. Click Complete, and then the messages will be imported to Imported Folder.
c. Move the messages that were imported to the Imported Folder to the appropriate folder under theLocal Folder. For example, move messages located in the Inbox folder under the Imported Folder to theInbox folder under the Local Folder.
d. Check whether the stuck messages are removed. If not, try to send or delete the messages.
If still the issue persists, then I would suggest you to post the same question in Windows Live Mail forum for further assistance with this issue.

I followed the above instructions twice to the letter. Live mail says import completed but there is no change in the newly created Live mail folder. No Imported folder. In fact nothing is recognized. I have reverted back to my previous storage folder with no change to the problem.
I really do need the last 4 years of emails for business and work so if anyone can help fix this issue i would be eternally grateful.
