Unable to view email messages imported into Windows Live Mail from Windows Mail

I recently got a new laptop with Windows 8 and I am unable to view the email messages that I imported into Windows Live Mail from Windows Mail.  I have already enabled the show hidden files.  Are there any fixes for  this issue?
