How do I get the folders I created in Windows Live to be displayed in my hotmail account when I log in from a web browser?

I want to delete an old hotmail account so I downloaded Windows Live 2012 and have copied all the folders from my old hotmail account into my new hotmail account using Windows live.  However the folders aren't showing up in my new hotmail account when I log in from a web-browser.  How do I get it to sync?
