windows live in windows 10

0

Windows 10 was installed on my PC about a month ago, I continued to use windows live which I have done for the last year when windows 8.1 was installed. Last Sunday things started to  go wrong & the following message appeared ;-

Unable to send or receive messages for the IMAP Talktalk (melpearson) account. Header download for the 'Trash' folder did not complete. Could not download new messages from the IMAP server.

Server Response: The server did not respond to this IMAP command before the connection was terminated.

Server: 'mail.talktalk.net'

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F

Protocol: IMAP

Port: 143

Secure(SSL): No

I cannot download incoming emails from talktalk although Gmail is working OK.

I have contacted talktalk and they rightly say they cannot support third party software and that Microsoft have made so many changes to the software they are struggling to maintain compatibility & I think they me be correct as I also keep receiving a windows live message stating ' Could not download new messages from the IMAP server' and another message stating that windows live is updating the system. At the moment I am receiving my Gmails ok but TalkTalk are upgrading their website which could add to the problem.

I am receiving all emails on my ipad so on that basis the problem seems to lie with the synching between Talktalk & windows live.

Has anyone else had this problem and what are the latest revised  Talktalk IMAP settings, I think this problem is 50/50 Talktalk windows live?

Windows Live Mail Sign In prompt

Every time I open my Live Mail 2011 Program the Sign-in prompt opens, even though I've checked the box "Remember me and sign me in automatically."  How can I get the email program to acknowledge my selection to open automatically?

Windows live mail dates out of sync

Hi All,

I have windows live mail 2012 and there is 3 colums, far left is the default account with inbox, sent, junk etc etc, the middle shows the emails the far right displays the emails, for some reason, everything has randomly as of today got all screwed up, so an email is showing as 1 date with a subject, but when you click it or open it, its a completely different date and not the same email, so for example email will say received 11/2/2016 from Ash  Subject GOLF, but when you click it, its not that email at all it might show 6/7/2015 from John subject TENNIS.

Live Mail is being used

I am having a dickens of a time with Live Mail.   It no longers wants to compact or back itself up because it is supposedly in use by another program - at least that is what the pop up says.

But i cant figure out how this is possible?

So in order to over come this error, i've had to re-install Live Mail.  But doing this like ever 3 months, is unreasonable.  And attempts to repair Live Mail via its repair option shows no problems resolved.

Its pretty frustrating because many years ago, i got tired of nurse maiding Live Mail. So i switched to other email programs.  Then the programs of those email programs would stop fiddling with the programs and again i got tired with nurse maiding them.  So i switched back to Live Mail and by that time the bugs seemed to of been worked out.  But now after like 3 or 4 years, I'm experiencing Live Mail issues.

Can anyone design a reliable email program for us ????  !!!!!!!!

In any case, whats the fix about this inability of Live mail unable to compact and back itself up?

thanks.

Good Day,

I have been unable to send an email since 2014.  I get this error code 0x800CCCE whenever I try to send an email.  I contacted Centurylink and we went through checking the incoming and outgoing server info and password and everything seems to be okay. But I still can't send an email.

I hope you guys have an answer.

Thank you,

Patrick

Windows Live Mail is crashing when sending mails from Excel vba to addresses outside my own domain

I have a vba tool that generates a report and automatically saves it and send it by email to a list of contacts.  This tool is using the default Mail Client that is Windows Live Mail.

let's say my domain is "mydomain.com" so all emails from my company would be *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, etc

when I send emails to those emails within my same domain, the mail got through without problem, but when I add an email from outside, let's say  *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

when Excel executes the Send command, it makes the Mail Engine to crash.

When I go to Windows Live Mail I can send an email to *** Email address is removed for privacy *** even with an attachment, but it is not working from within Excel.

How can I enable Excel to send emails to addresses outside of my domain using Windows Live Mail?

Original Title: Microsoft 2011 Live Mail.

Hello:

A few months ago I upgraded and installed Windows 10.

Since I have noticed issues with my email....no problem sending or receiving but a lot of times when I click an incoming message I get a BING sound and a dialog box appears...then I X it out. Likewise when I send a message.

I discussed this with my service provider and they said the email is working fine..it might be a firewall issue or something related to the window 10 download.

Can you help. It is very annoying

Thank'you

Bob

Windows Live Mail 2012 database error

0
0

I have a new problem with Windows Live Mail 2012

This was previously working fine on Windows 7

I updated to Windows 10 and it was still working fine but I had to return to windows 7 because PaperPort and FaxTalkPro were not working correctly and nobody could determine why.

After returning to Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, Windows Live mail has some sort of error in the database.

Whenever I open a folder which contains old emails all of the emails have been duplicated and when I select one of these duplicated files it reports “message cannot be found”. This duplicate can be deleted one at a time and can be deleted in bulk if each is selected individually but they cannot be deleted by selecting a range of files.

After deleting these files and exiting Windows Live and then re-entering it I get “Recovering Windows Live database”

These duplicate E-mails appear when I first enter a folder to review it’s E-mails

There are thousands of these duplicate E-mails to be deleted which will take days to do one at a time since I cannot delete them in bulk.

And I cannot clear out the deleted files folder either due to an unexplained error.

I have already run “Repair all windows live programs” which does not make any

difference.

I have tried to export the E-mails but the export is clearly incomplete and does not list all of the E-mails

I removed Windows Live Mail and reinstalled it and imported these E-mails and the result was incomplete.

I cannot find any other database repair procedure in any of your forums.

Is there any other way to repair a Windows Live database.

(come on, Microsoft, you have been programming for decades and database repair is a basic database maintenance procedure from the beginning of database design)

TRYING TO EXPORT EMAILS FROM WINDOWS LIVE MAIL APPLICATION VERSION 12

0
0

I am using Windows Live Mail Application Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3528.0331) on a Windows 8.1 laptop.

I am buying a new laptop which will come with Windows 10.  I am trying to export the emails from two of the three accounts I have in the current application to back them up and to hopefully import to the Windows 10 email application.  (The third account is a web based account so it does not need to be backed up locally.)  I want to keep the communications on my local computer and back up drives.

I am following the Microsoft directions for exporting the emails from the application.  Although I had no problems exporting the contact files from the application, I am not able to export the emails.  A couple of different things have happened.

1 - At first I received a message indicating the data had been exported, but when I went to the folder to which it should have gone, the folder was empty.  (I tried this several times.)

2 - Then I was able to get as far in the process as browsing to find the folder I wanted to put the emails in, I was able to select the folders I wished to export, I was able to click on "next" and a split second later (way too short a period of time for the number of emails involved) to click on "finish." None of the emails were exported to the new file.

3 - I repeated the process as in step 2 above twice and instead of attempting to export only selected files, I attempted to export all files.  I had the same results - no emails were exported or in one case only one draft email was exported.

I feel confident I am following Microsoft's directions for this process as depicted in their Microsoft Essentials part of their website.  Would appreciate some advice.  I know I can simply copy the files from the section on my hard drive where they are stored. My concern about using that approach is that importing them to the Windows 10 email application may not work.
